and Goals
Our theme for the month of March is ELP and beyond. As we get closer to the end of the semester it is time to consider: What do you want the rest of your time here at VCU to look like?
Global Education Office
Interested in studying abroad or connecting with students from other countries? Not sure how to get started? The Global Education Office at VCU can help you get started!
Before getting started with planning a trip to study abroad, first fill out the Global Education Office’s Rams Abroad 101 session. These modules will help you begin to explore the opportunities available and how you would like to shape the experience. This will also help you understand program options, how to select a program, funding options, how to earn credit abroad and what your next steps are. Once you complete this you can set up an appointment with an Education Abroad Adviser!
Often the biggest obstacle to studying abroad is a lack of funds. Luckily the Global Education Office can help you determine whether you can use your existing scholarships and financial aid to help cover the cost. They can also connect you with a variety of other scholarships that could be applied to your trip!
Want to engage with international students right here in Richmond? The Global Education Office also has events and programs here at VCU! From Cultural Conversation Zooms to Global Cafe, there are many events where you can socialize and engage with students from around the world. If you are interested in volunteering and mentoring international students studying at VCU, you can apply to be a mentor for the Global Buddies program. Volunteers for this program meet once a week with international students to help them learn more about American culture and practice their English language skills.
